Preparation for Workshop One
In workshop one, we will attempt to name and describe a set of scholarly practices that relate to scholarly efforts in the arts, humanities and interpretive social sciences. These "scholarly practices" are intended to reflect efforts that reach across research, teaching, and service.
To best prepare for the workshop, we are asking participants to complete the following 'prep work' before attending. These listed readings and questions should help prepare you for the ensuing discussion and make our limited time at workshop one as fruitful as possible. The questions will also be addressed at the workshop, so feel free to bring a copy of your responses to the workshop if it would be helpful. There is no need to formally submit your answers.
- Please read the proposal in its entirety
- Please read the Identifying Scholarly Practices handout.
- We are building a bibliography related to arts and humanities cyberinfrastructure. If there are articles you would like to add to the bibliography, feel free to recommend up three articles in areas such as the future of your discipline, use of digital tools, scholarly communication, or other topics that you think will be of benefit to the Bamboo community planning process.
- Please consider the following two questions as your answers will be used as part of the workshop. We would appreciate hearing answers from all of your team's participants in relationship to these two questions:
- On a really good day, what are the productive things I might do in relation to research?
- During a really good term or cycle, what are the productive things I might do in relation to research?
